Columbia and Onsted competing in Independent Golf League

The Girls 2020 Independent Golf League Season is off to a swinging start with three conference Jamborees in the books. Both Columbia Central and Onsted belong to the Independent Golf League.

Hillsdale hosted the opening Jamboree Friday, August 21 at the Hillsdale Golf course on Baw Beese Lake.

The host Hillsdale Hornet’s captured first place with a 220 score while the Onsted Wildcats and Lenawee Christian Cougars tied for second with scores of 224. Columbia Central finished fourth with a 235.

Onsted’s Jamie Metzger, Columbia’s Elizabeth Tyndal, and Hillsdale’s Melanie Foust shared top honors, shooting rounds of 45.

Annika Berg shot a 51, Maddie Zellen a 58, and Rachelle LaBrie a 71 to round out the Wildcats scoring.

Reyna Oudekerk carded a 48, Tatiana Foule a 55, and Emily Fox a 65 for the Eagles.

On Wednesday, August  23, Clark Lake Golf Course was the site for the Columbia Central Jamboree.

Lenawee Christian took top honors with a team score of 200, Columbia Central finished second with 224, and Onsted third with a 227.

Hillsdale’s Melanie Foust took medalist honors with a 43.

Elizabeth Tyndal led the second-place Lady Eagles with a score of 50, while teammates Reyna Oudekerk had a 54, Lyndsey Swank a 55, and Emily Fox a 65.

Jamie Metzger shot a 45 to lead the Lady Wildcats, with Annika Berg shooting a 44, Maddie Zellen a 51, and Rachelle LaBrie a 74 for Onsted.

On Friday, August 28, Adrian Madison hosted the Madison Jamboree at Adrian’s Wolf Creek Golf Course.

Lenawee Christian captured first place for the second straight time with a 194, Columbia Central finished a stroke back with a 195 and the Onsted Wildcats were third with a 209.

Lady Wildcat Jamie Metzger shot a 40 to take medalist honors, while teammates Annika Berg carded a 44,  Maddie Zellen a 51, and Rachelle LaBrie a 74.

Elizabeth Tyndal led the Lady Eagles with a 45, teammates Reyna Oudekerk and Lyndsey Swank carded 48, and Emily Fox a 54.

After their two first-place finishes, Lenawee Christian holds first place with 20 points, while Columbia Central and Onsted are tied for second with 16 points.

The Wildcats and Eagles will be at Concord Hills Golf Course Thursday for the Concord Jamboree and the Wildcats will host the Onsted Jamboree at Devils Lake Golf Course next Wednesday, September 9.

 

Metzger, Berg finish first and second at Adrian Maples Invitational

On Monday, August 23 the Onsted Wildcats competed in the Adrian Maples Invitational at Adrian’s Woodlawn Golf Course.

Onsted Lady Wildcats Jamie Metzger and Annika Berg finished 1-2, with Metzger taking medalist honors with a round of 89 and Berg second place with a 93.

Temperance Bedford captured the team championship with a 403 score while the Wildcats finished fifth with a 483.
