The Napoleon Pirates opened 2022 by getting their second Cascades Conference win of the season Friday, January 7, with a 49-30 win over their archrival Addison at Napoleon.
Napoleon led 9-3 after the first eight minutes of play and built a 24-10 halftime lead.
The Panthers battled back to get within single digits in the second half, outscoring Napoleon 13-10 in the third quarter but the Pirates responded with a 15-7 run in the fourth to secure the win.
The Pirates had balanced scoring with two players in double figures, led by Momo Hampton who hit three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points, while Emily Smilowski scored 10 points. Emme Van Poppel chipped in with 8 points and Kelsea Bradley with 7.
Addison senior Gina Hanson led all scorers with 18 points while Panther teammate Alison Beougher had 5.
