Fireworks, parades, music and more is happening in our communities this coming weekend. Scroll below to see some of the events in your area. Please note this list does not include some private fireworks displays at area lakes.

Brooklyn

The Village of Brooklyn will be hosting its annual Fourth of July Parade on Sunday, July 4 at 1 p.m. Staging for the parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church parking lot.

The parade route will head west on Marshall Street to North King Street/Tiffany Street to Potter Street, and from there to Lane Street and then northbound on South Main Street to the Village Square, around the Village Square to Chicago Street and then to West Street to return to the Presbyterian Church parking lot. This parade route is intentionally more compact than last year’s holiday parade due to the likelihood of hot weather to enable walking participants to be able to drop out along the route if they need to do so.

Michigan Ave., Grass Lake, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Then the day moves into the 9 a.m. line-up for the annual parade at the High School parking lot. Starting at 10 a.m., the parade will proceed South on East Avenue to Michigan Avenue, then along Michigan Avenue to Lake Street in downtown, then heading North along Lake Street to the County Park on Grass Lake. Entries in the parade should contact Jim Ducey for registration information, or by email at jducey4thjuly@gmail.com and then show up at the high school for the line-up.

The parade will end at the park at around 11:30 a.m., where the Grass Lake Sportsman’s Club will offer its annual Chicken Broil. The Cardboard Boat races organized by the Grass Lake Lions and Leos, will start at about 1 p.m.
