The River Raisin Watershed Council is hosting an informational meeting on Wednesday evening, August 2, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brooklyn dam site, shown above. The topic of the meeting will be the drawdown of the impoundment, the permit for which is anticipated to be issued during the first week of August, 2023.
Limited parking is available at the Brooklyn dam site. If there is inclement weather, the meeting will be held at the Chamber of Commerce conference room located in the recently developed portion of the Old Irish Mill building.
RRWC staff, property owner Dan Ross, Niswander Environmental, and representatives from the Village of Brooklyn will be in attendance to discuss the drawdown, plans, timeline of the project, and answer questions.
