Weather the big story in Irish Hills this weekend

Officials: Remember to bring your pets inside tonight.

Weather has been the big story in the Irish Hills this weekend, which started under a blanket of low pressure and snow, and is ending with open skies and freezing cold.

Saturday’s storm blanketed the area with snow, and now residents, including the feathered type, are hunkering down in the freezing cold. While the open water shown in the photo at top is great for geese, humans are enjoying three to four inches of the solidified variety. The sight of fishermen on the lakes is a welcomed one for those starting to get cabin fever.

Residents are being reminded by officials to take care of their outdoor pets and provide shelter for them this evening, as temperatures are expected to get below zero.
